A semi-regular attempt (in other words, as I have time) to explore the interaction between God and the adolescent world, especially the connection between theory and praxis (otherwise known as practical theology). Primary emphasis will be given to the role of the church (and especially the emerging church) in this process.

Hanging Out With Our Teens

Sorry for the long delay in posting. I've been doing some other writing projects during my sabbatical (finished a book, an article for an academic journal, and have been analyzing data from survey work I did last fall).

Anyway, I leave today for a weekend with the teens from our church. We're attending an event called TNT@TNU (stands for Top Nazarene Talent at Trevecca Nazarene University, located in Nashville, TN). We're taking over 30 teens (who advanced because they won at the district level) to this big event, where the top achievers can actually win college scholarships. (The picture at the right shows the opening ceremonies at Opryland.)

I love events like this, as it gives me four days of intense time with these great kids. I've been amazed at how much these kids have grown in Christ over the last three years, and look forward to their continued development and transformation.

If you're going to be there, look me up. I'll post more when we get back.
